@JonnyC: A 24hr geocaching trip accross Woolacombe and Bristol, covering around 20mi walking. Achieved 85 caches in Woolacombe, and a further 17 caches in South Bristol. Beautiful sunny day, great conditions for walking.
Good digging trip @RichM: Pushed a mud filled rift with a false floor for some metres, light failed retreated and borrowed light went back in flat out thrutch up slippery slope into small chamber - no one joined me! a collectors piece. retreated and dug in floor with good drafts
@JonnyC: Bit of top-roping at St Werburghs to dust off the old climbing skills and to get Rich signed up as a member. 4-5b, and some bouldering. Arms hurt!
Good digging trip @RichM: First time out digging for some weeks fantastic trip, broke through into chamber, no one else could fit through squeeze until more digging then progressed another 6 metres through thick mud and dropped into a promising phreatic tube. Very happy, need to start pushing the fitness.
Exploration to survey of lionels, time ran out to attempt the round trip @JonnyC: An exploration of Lionel's hole, relating different parts of the system to the survey, what a maze! Think we figured most of it out, but pulled back before completing a round trip as time was pressing, a definite for a revisit.
Explore of Reads by Mendip Underground descriptions @JonnyC: An exploratory trip around Read's, trying to relate the ground inside to a surface copy of Mendip Underground. Truth be told whilst we did a reasonable amount of passage we are not terribly clear on where exactly we went. A surprisingly nice little cave, it was almost completely dry for our visit an thus I would like to come back and see it in flow. Loads of interesting rock formations, plenty of boulder choke. More details to follow ...
MCR callout below bloody tight
Exploration of the oxbows, and accessed via the tree. @JonnyC: Play around in the Oxbows in Swildon's upper series. Dropped in through the tree which was very exciting, looked pretty exposed at first but having watched Rich descend it wasn't as bad as I thought. Upper Oxbow, Butcombe Chamber (saw some pretties), Oxbow Junction, quick detour to see the bottom of Upper and the drop into the streamway, then down into Lower Oxbow, followed by Lowbow, upper first then lower before returning to the wa ...
@JonnyC: From Ffynnon Tal-y-pyst car park (west of Llangatock), heading SW to trig, SE toward Llangynidir Reservoir, Pwll Coch shake hole, flooded swallow hole before descending into Llangatwg Quarries and navigating north accross the road to Coetgae Du woodland to wild camp. Rich, Chris and I tabbed to the CP to retrieve the vehicles back to this point.
@JonnyC: Out from the Priory car park, north over Loxidge Tump, South East along Offa's Dyke path to Grouse Butts turning North West through the woods back into the Priory.
