Route finding practice in the upper series @RichM: A route finding trip for JC & DG visiting the Zig Zags, New Gottoes, Top of the Old 40 and checking out all the ways to access the Oxbows - left the exploration of the Oxbows for another trip
@RichM: Mountain bike - Longbottom, Fire Break, Rowberrow
@JonnyC: A wonderful exploration around cribarth, started a little shaky due to an apparent local offensive on public footpaths with some being un-marked, hidden, or clearly blocked, after walking almost right down to Dan-yr-Ogof, we returned and picked up our desired footpath heading south west up to the Pwll-yr-Cawr shake hole. After giving Rich a quick 101 in GPS usage we headed off SW to Cribarth Trig Point where RM picked up his third cache, and spent some time in and around here practicing. ...
@JonnyC: Unfortunately due to injury DG was unable to continue his cycling practice today, so instead Rich and I headed in to the quarry. Rich asked me to cycle down a 45 degree hill, which in hindsight should have been dead easy, but seriously took me forever slowly building up a few metres at a time. I was proud to have achieved it though! Rich had fun on some of the steeper hills in the quarry.
@JonnyC: Having parked near the standing stone off the easterly flanks of Fan-Foel we circumnavigated the west shoulder of Moel Feity heading for a checkpoint at the southwest corner of the Glasfynydd Forest. Here, Rich began navigating in to pick up his first geocache north of the nose of Fan Foel shunning the normal GPS approach in favour of good old map and compass, and achieved it with great success. After climbing to a good view over Llyn y Fan Fach we head up onto the top, and up to the t ...
@JonnyC: Night time micro nav practice around the quarries and OFD nature reserve behind SWCC cottages in Penwyllt, completing a multi cache along the way. Starting out along the dismantled tramline, circumnavigating the quarries, before heading out into the OFD nature reserve, and visiting the Swindon Caving Club cottages before heading home.

First Ride - Penwyllt
@JonnyC: After a good days walking we decided to get Darren on to a bike, so we spent an hour in the SWCC taking DG from being a non-cyclist to an almost cyclist. A bit more work needed to get that second pedal stroke in, but a good start.
@JonnyC: A nice exploration of the OFD nature reserve. Walking out from SWCC cottages in Penwllt, exploring the abandoned railway line, it's access points and watercourse before breaking east into the managed woodland. Following the watercourse initially to avoid the density of the trees we hit the fire break, and nav around the vehicle tracks to the northerly point. In darkness and blackout we cross Carreg Cadno handrailing the boundry fence to intersect Beacons Way and track back past the ...
Trying out some underground photography in GB @JonnyC: A trip down GB to try our hand at underground photography. Not particularly successful, but fun nonetheless, and given us some clear ideas on how to do it better in the future.
