JC led trip into Goatchurch, over under demonstrated @RichM: A full compliment for a bimble around Goatchurch, main entrance, bloody tight to the boulder chamber where some debate surrounded the size and scope for the over-under, ably demonstrated by Mr C. Onward to the drainpipe where the party reversed order with the J R contingent checking out Dexion extension. Exiting the cave via the trademans entrance. Andy reports on FB a great trip but suffering the next day.
Setting up the hey phone near terminal sump @RichM: Headed down to bottom of ladder dig via the oxbows and set up hey phone near the terminal sump. Good comms with surface, then established comms with Charterhouse at various locations upto gloop pot, we could only just get through when they were at Diesel Duck but they had established good contact with surface when surface relocated their position. Quick exit as got very cold, all the climbs down felt very expossed.
Interesting little trip into Goatchurch @RichM: A reflective bimble to the end of the drain pipe. Good trip ++ - wasn't that keen on Goatchurch but looked at it through different perspective this trip.
WCC Trip @RichM: A visit to explore the bone cave, followed by the stalictite cave. First gentle trip post CVE, fantastic to get underground again in these unique SSSI caves
@RichM: At risk of failure due to inactivity saw the three of us undertaking boyancy tests on the three craft. We paddled upstream to the weir and after a quick photo session paddled down to the Jolly sailor weir. A very sedate paddle due to external constraints which gave Callum a good opportunity to develop his technique, he did fantastically well, tiring towards the end going against the current so reluctantly elected for a tow from Jon for the last leg. Test successfuly completed - all craft go ...
Enlarging Murlis Loop @RichM: Bag boy for AV - entrance, over blind pots, down into the main chamber then a thrutch up into hanging boulder chamber to commence some remedial work towards a round trip. retreated via same route, confirmatory odour on return
@AndyI: Proof I was there! I don't remember there being any photos of me? :) @RichM: After succesfully loading 4 Kayaks on Jon's van, we prepared for our first trip out in the newly aquired craft. G borrowed one and lent his to Kyle - J & R sporting identical kayaks. All in the water ok and paddled up to wier, then portaged to top side and paddled up to dissused railway bridge trying various paddling techniques, rafting etc. On return to the weir confidence grew and the fun started, no one was wet yet so Kyle jumped in, Rich shot the weir followed by another intrepid paddle ...
Digging @RichM: Carried in sand and cement from surface. Rescued my belt! and started digging - good progress, removed very large cobble to produce a good draft - lots of spoil removed, looking good - hole appeared which goes down about 2 mtrs.
Nice trip into Rods to look at the dig face @JonnyC: After taking the wise but tough decision to forgo Lionels for the evening we bounced our way up the track to Rod's. At first, Rod's felt like a first visit, I could barely remember the entrance series, but as we started the descent it soon started to come back. After no time at all we had reached the connection which had been such a big deal before, but this time it was little bother. When in Bath, Rich directed me on through various passag ...
Digging @RichM: A good break after a busy weekend, one mix done so AN could carry on walling whilst the rest of us dug down and hauled out debris. Easy digging pulled out large clean cobbles and lots of sand. another 2 foot downwards progress but no sign of a break through
