Leading a tourist trip into the Frozen Deep @RichM: Following increasing penetration of the cold despite the addition of thermals I sucumbed to the temptations of Tony's mobile shop in the early hours. Sporting my new supper delux furry and more akin to an apprentice Santa, I met my party of three in the Gorge. After brief introductions it became apparent that I had reduced the age of the gathering considerably, only one had been in reservoir hole before and that was with the original discoverer som ...
An excellent tour of the Brown's Folly Mine @RichM: After a rushed start in the morning and coming straight from Reservoir Hole my camera was sadly sat at home. A group of WCC ablely led by --- went in through muddy hole and had an educational tour visiting amongst other places "The Falls" very apt name, "The Ferret Hole", " The Stables" " Clapham Junction" "The Loading Bay and many other interesting features. The mine was much cleaner and tidier than my last visit thanks to strerling work by a lone ...

A charity cycle ride planned from Chippenham to Exeter. Good weather - abandoned at Taunton due to rescue call out @RichM: A very frustrating ride due to different mind sets of the other participants. Excellent team work with Paul making the leg between Bath & Glastonbury first class as didn't see any of the other participants but had to wait at Glastonbury for an hour! Just leaving Taunton when got a cave rescue call out so abandoned bike acquired a car and didn't finish the last 30 miles.

A day of prospecting assessing air flow and reviewing the three sumps @RichM: A slow trip looking for possible dig leads, a confusing reversal of drafts from Lads luck which is not helpful. Strong draft coming in from junction chamber along the passage and then rising into the boulder ruckle above cough drop. Very nice new passage way beyond the squeeze which we opened up recently - I entered the new sump upto my chin but it still went on downwards with no way horizontal - a big mistake as it got ver ...
Following a telephone discussion we concluded the only way to clarify things was to do another visit. Headed through boulder chamber down to the bottom of the terrace, over the top of the labyrinth and down to junction chamber to connect with the round trip (reverse to the normal). We headed through the boulder ruckle into the end of the first bypass then did the return describing as we went. Heading out through the labyrinth, over East Low level and up through the boulder chamber. This shou ...
Wet cold digging trip into new territory off Lads Luck - looks promising. @RichM: After the angst of Thursday, needed to get focused so despite lack of energy headed underground. After checking the main sump (level high and flowing in unexplained ways). Team too big so slow trip, very draughty I got too cold so exited with drill whilst charted the were laid.
